Accounting & bookkeeping

Clean books. Reconciled accounts. A dependable close.

Papaya gives growing American businesses vetted, dedicated accounting and bookkeeping specialists who keep transactions current, accounts reconciled, and month-end on schedule. They work inside your accounting system and to your policies, while your leaders review key accounts, approve adjustments, and keep full decision rights. Decisions start from clean, reliable books, and leaders gain more time for customers and growth.

What we handle

Capacity where it counts.

Dedicated specialists take on defined, recurring work—so your leaders stay focused on direction, decisions, and customers.

01

Transaction management

Specialists record and categorize transactions consistently, match them to receipts and source documents, and route unusual items to your reviewer for a decision.

02

Payables & receivables support

Specialists organize supplier bills and customer invoices, prepare payment batches for your approval, and keep receivables aging current for timely follow-up.

03

Bank & card reconciliations

Bank, credit card, and loan accounts are reconciled on an agreed schedule, with differences investigated and documented rather than carried into the next period.

04

Balance sheet reconciliations

Specialists reconcile key balance sheet accounts such as clearing accounts, prepaid expenses, and payroll liabilities, with schedules your reviewer can verify quickly.

05

Month-end close support

Specialists run the close checklist, prepare recurring entries and accruals for review, and track open items with owners and dates until the books are ready.

06

Financial statement preparation

Draft monthly financial statements and supporting schedules tie back to reconciled accounts and arrive ready for your leaders to review, question, and approve.

What changes

More capacity. More momentum.

Leaders keep ownership and decision rights; Papaya specialists add accountable execution inside your tools and to your standards.

01

Timely, usable reports

Month-end becomes a managed sequence with clear owners, due dates, and review steps, so reports arrive when leaders expect them and decisions move sooner.

02

Numbers you can trust

Reconciled accounts, documented support, and a review step separate from preparation give leaders financial information they can use with confidence for pricing, hiring, and cash decisions.

03

Time back for leaders

Owners and finance leads step out of routine coding, matching, and document chasing, and put that time into customers, planning, and the decisions only they can make.

When it fits

Is it time to add capacity?

If any of these sound familiar, a well-scoped team extension can help your business move faster without losing control.

Talk to Papaya
01

Bank and credit card reconciliations are running months behind or only happen at year-end.

02

The month-end close drags on, and reports arrive too late to guide decisions.

03

An owner or operator is still coding transactions and chasing receipts instead of leading the business.

04

Transaction volume has grown faster than the team that keeps the books.

Questions

Straight answers.

How is access to our accounting and banking systems handled?

Your team stays in control. Access is set up as named, role-based accounts limited to what the agreed scope requires, and we recommend multifactor authentication wherever your systems support it. Your team approves each user and keeps administrative control, payment approvals and bank-detail changes stay with your authorized approvers, and access can be adjusted or removed at any time.

Who approves journal entries and adjustments?

Your designated reviewer does. Specialists prepare recurring entries, accruals, and adjustments with supporting documentation, then submit them for approval under the rules you set. Your leaders own accounting policies and judgment calls, and the company remains responsible for its financial statements and tax filings, working with its own tax advisers.

What if our books need cleanup before monthly work begins?

Cleanup can be scoped as a defined first phase. Specialists reconcile prior periods, propose corrections for miscoded activity, and list open questions for your review, separate from recurring work. Once records are current, the team moves into a steady monthly rhythm of transaction management, reconciliations, and close support.
